How Your Information Is Handled
A small practice means fewer hands on your information. Here is exactly how it moves and who sees it.

One person, start to finish
TaxesbyRoss is a solo practice. Ross is the only person who prepares your return and the only person with access to the documents you provide. There is no shared office staff, no outsourced preparation, and no third-party data-entry service handling your information.
How documents are exchanged
Tax documents are sent and received through a secure, encrypted email system, not ordinary email. When you are ready to share documents, Ross will send you the secure method to use.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, full account numbers, or tax documents through the website contact form or by regular email. Use the contact form or a phone call to get in touch first, and Ross will set up the secure channel for anything sensitive.
Legal limits on disclosure
Federal law (Internal Revenue Code section 7216) restricts tax return preparers from using or disclosing the information in your return for any purpose other than preparing it, except with your written consent or where specifically permitted by law. Your information is never sold or used for unrelated marketing.
Retention
Copies of prepared returns and the records that support them are retained in line with IRS recordkeeping guidance and professional practice, then disposed of securely. You receive your own complete copy of every return.
What this website collects
The website itself collects very little: what you enter in the contact form, basic server logs, and — where enabled — aggregate, non-identifying analytics. The Set-Aside Calculator runs entirely in your browser; the figures you enter are not sent anywhere. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
